Sired by Olympic contender, Idocus and out of a Selle Francais daughter of Galoubet, Roc USA is an exemplary stallion choice for the modern sporthorse breeder.

Roc’s pedigree reads like a who’s who of stellar athletes and successful sporthorse sires.  Included in Roc’s lineage is the legendary Voltaire, the first of the super star performance stallions to go on and prove himself equally as important as a breeding stallion. Voltaire’s offspring successfully represent him in all major arenas – their performances aiding in his being ranked 9th in the top 50 sires in the ten years from 1991 to 2000.  By Furioso II and out of a daughter of the great Hanoverian stallion, Gotthard, Voltaire is well known as a sire of brilliant jumpers with great “can do” temperaments.

Roc’s maternal grandsire is Galoubet (Alme X Viti) whose offspring include international competitors Baloubet du Rouet (who won three World Cup finals in a row), Gatoubet du Rouet, and Quickstar.  Galoubet’s sire was Almé, one of the all time great jumping stallions.  Almé was by the great French stallion, Ibrahim out of Girondine.  Ibrahim is out of Vailante, and by The Last Orange. The Last Orange carried the blood of Eclipse xx, Matchem xx and Herod xx. His sire, Orange Peel is considered the founder of the modern Normandy horse.  Also found in Roc’s pedigree are the equally influential Joost (Consul X Ulana), Le Mexico, Turn To (xx) and Braxton Bragg, a top producer of Thoroughbred sporthorses.

Standing 17 hands tall, Roc is a beautiful, correct stallion with real talent and a strong desire to please.  He is consistently throwing offspring that are athletic, correct and very easy to train.  Many of his foals have been Premium scoring foals with the ISR/Oldenburg NA and he has multiple USEF Zone Champions and Reserve Champions in Hunter Breeding with his oldest foal crop just starting their under saddle careers.  Roc is an excellent cross for Thoroughbred mares, adding both size and substance to their foals without overpowering their refined elegance.
